Cannabinoids

Cannabinoids are active chemical compounds found in marijuana that can interact with specific cannabinoid receptors present in the human central nervous system and produce pain relief, improved mental outlooks and other medical benefits. There have been over 100 cannabinoids identified in the cannabis plant. THC or tetrahydrocannabinol, the one known for its psychoactive properties, has been described as the most common, though many others have been identified and are being studied.
